Sokol doo has been working on the construction of the lateral canal Kneževi Vinogradi - Zmajevac since the 8th of 2013. The lateral channel is about 12.3 kilometers long. The function of the canal is the dual-purpose irrigation of agricultural areas in dry periods, by releasing water from the Zmajevac Dunavac into the lateral canal, i.e. draining into the Danube the excess torrential waters that come into the lateral canal from the Baranja mountain. At the very beginning of the lateral channel, a reversible pumping station Zmajevac is planned, which is located next to the foot of the main defensive Danube embankment Zmajevac - Kopacevo, with the intake of water from the Zmajevac Dunavac. The basic interconnected units that make up the pumping station facility itself are the reinforced concrete construction of the entrance building, the reinforced concrete construction of the central part of the pumping station, the reinforced concrete construction of the pressure channel, the reinforced concrete construction of the oil spillway building, and the accompanying mechanical and hydrotechnical equipment.
