The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate and close the non-hazardous landfill "Božino brdo" and prevent further negative impacts of this landfill on the environment and human health.

By carrying out the rehabilitation and closing the "Božino brdo" waste disposal site, the unorganized non-hazardous waste disposal site of the City of Ilok will be rehabilitated and the environmental condition in the wider area of the site will be improved, soil and groundwater protection will be improved, air pollution and the impact on climate change will be reduced.

The planned remediation will permanently resolve the issue of the non-compliant, closed non-hazardous waste disposal site "Božino brdo", whose area will be fully remediated in a legally and environmentally acceptable manner, while future activities will be limited to carrying out proper monitoring and maintenance of the landfill after the remediation has been carried out.
